Color Her Fearless

who we are

Color Her Fearless is a NJ non-profit organization started in 2016. The organization was created to provide support towards recovery for adolescent girls (ages 11-18) from marginalized communities, who are survivors of sexual, physical and body-based emotional trauma. This organization aims to increase access to care by decreasing financial barriers and offering therapeutic services at a reduced rate. Participation in this program is $280 for 8 weeks per participant ($35/week).

“She was powerful, not because she wasn’t scared, but because she went on so strongly despite the fear.”

Our approach

This program is designed to incorporate movement activities and group-based therapeutic intervention (IFS & EMDR) to empower adolescent girls to develop a stronger sense of bodily autonomy and healthy recovery from their traumatic experiences. The group program is broken up into 2 groups (ages 11 – 14; and ages 15 – 18). Each group accepts up to 8 members at a time, and runs for a total of 8 weeks, with group members meeting for 1 hour each week.

Support is also offered to parents through use of providing psycho-education and resources. Long term goals for the program involve hosting camp-based programming and school outreach. Please stay tuned to learn about when we will be offering programs and workshops through our non-profit!
